With the NBA Finals heating up, both the Cleveland Cavaliers
and the Golden State Warriors are putting together one of the most memorable
NBA Finals in recent history. Both the Cavs and Warriors have been putting up
some amazing numbers on and off the court. With the series tied 2-2 its no
surprise to anyone that these teams are evenly matched and we can certainly
expect this series to go to a game 7.
At HubNami we like to ask the question “what other variables
might have an influence on the game or performance of the players outside of
coaching and individual talent?” We answer this question by analyzing two key
metrics on social media, Fans and Engagements.
As you would suspect, just like on the court, both the Cavs
and Warriors are battling it out across social media as well. What you might be
surprised about is that even though the Cavs Facebook page has nearly 300K more
fans, the Warriors fans are more engaged and have increased their fans by
nearly 20% in the past 30 days on Facebook; compared to a 10% gain by the Cavs.
Over the past 30 days, the Warriors have post a whopping
11.3 million engagements on Facebook alone, in comparison to the Cavs 10.6
million engagements over that same period of time.
So what does this all boil down to? The Warriors are winning
the social battle! However, if the battle across social media is anything like
what we have seen on the court, stay tuned.
The Cavs could come back at any minute!
